What's new Beta

Say it with a Scribble

Snakkes 1.2 is here: draw it and send it, GIFs that move, and a contact list that lights up.

Scribble, like the good old days

Some things are easier to draw. Click the squiggle in the message box and it turns into a drawing pad: a heart, a doodle, a quick map to the café. Pick a pen, draw with your mouse and send it. Your friend gets it as a picture, cut neatly to fit.

  • Six colours, a thin and a thick pen
  • Undo with Ctrl + Z, send with Enter
A chat with Freja: her Scribble of herself swimming in the lake under the sun with a heart, and the message box as a drawing pad with a heart, a smiley and a zigzag drawn, the six pen colours and Undo.

Your list lights up

A friend you're in a call with glows green, one you're calling glows blue, and a new message blinks orange until you've read it. Prefer it calm? Turn it off in Settings.

GIFs that move

Pick a GIF in the emoji panel, or copy one from the web and paste it. It plays right in the chat, just like it should.

Lighter, bigger calls

Calls are light in light mode now. Drag the edge under a call to make it a little bigger, and your friend's picture grows with it. During a call, Video and Share at the top of the chat turn on your camera or your screen.

A call with Freja, in light blue, with her big display picture, 5:12 on the clock, and Mute, Camera off, Share screen and Hang up.
  • Stars in Ludo Jump from a star, and whoever stands on it goes home
  • Reactions beside photos Right next to the picture, halfway down
  • Games keep their place A floating game stays inside the chat's edges
  • Settings in small windows One tidy menu instead of four rows of buttons
  • Classic Mode Your list on its own, each chat in a window, with Snakkes More
  • Lots of polish Clearer tooltips and a toolbar in a tidier order
