“Vi snakkes!” is what Danes say when they part: we'll talk (again later). That's where the name comes from, and what the app is for: Snakkes with friends.
Why Snakkes?
Remember coming home and seeing who was online? Your friends' little pictures, their status, a personal message that said everything about their day? Messengers used to be a place you hung out with your friends, not a feed to scroll or a phone number to hand out.
Snakkes brings that feeling back, built for today. It's an app for Windows and Mac where your friends list is the heart of everything: you see who's around, what they're up to, and you can start a chat, a call or a game in a click.
What we care about
- Friends firstSnakkes is for people you know. You decide who can find you and who gets in.

What you can do
Chat one to one or in groups, with photos, files, reactions and replies. Call with voice or video and share your screen. Play Four in a Row and other games right in the chat. Post a few lines to your friends in Activity. Pick a display picture, a status and a personal message, and make every chat your own with themes. See everything Snakkes can do.
Where we are
Snakkes 1.1 beta is here, and it's free. New versions still come often, and the app updates itself. Snakkes runs on Windows 10 and 11, and on Mac. We read every piece of feedback: use Feedback in the app, or write to us.
Snakkes More is an optional extra with more themes, your own chat background and a name style that stands out. Everything else is free. Read about More.
